Understanding and Working With Dysphoria
About the Facilitator
Hi, my name is Ari Heart (they/them).
I am a trans non-binary person, a psychotherapist and an educator.
This workshop series is something I have been dreaming of, fermenting on, hoping for and planning for many years, over hundreds of beautiful 'AHA!' moments and conversations with clients, friends, personal therapists and colleagues.
It is a collation the best insights and strategies I know, use and help clients with.
Through 12 years of figuring out life as a trans and non-binary person, and 8 years of working to support individual trans clients, I have had the privilege to facilitate, participate in, and learn from thousands of conversations with people experiencing dysphoria. Through these workshops I will share some of the best take-aways from those conversations
My Mission:
To meaningfully contribute to the transformation of the trans narrative - from one that centres suffering and unease to one based on personal liberation; personal liberation through the necessary courage to connect with oneself and others authentically.
I believe progress for trans people globally is absolutely possible, but that it is not a sure thing. With increasing backlash against those who support and believe young trans people, I hope to offer an antidote: Trans self-acceptance, love and liberation.
“Ari is a caring and thoughtful practitioner who I have known for many years, they’re someone I trust and highly respect. I’m so happy for our young people that they are doing this work.” Starlady, Zoe Belle Gender Collective
